Hi there, I'm setting up a 65 gallon tank for an 8 inch plecostomus, and I'd like to get 4-6 angelfish to share the tank with him and about 6 SAEs.
Has anyone here ever purchased from House of Angels (http://www.thehouseofangels.com/)? I recently bought fish online, and while my SAEs came through the mail just fine, I also bought 6 sparkling gouramis, of which only 2 survived, so I'm wary of buying very young (quarter-sized) angels through the mail, especially since they are more expensive than the gouramis.
The reason I want to buy my angels from HOA is because I'm always disappointed in the angels at pet stores. They often aren't in good health, and they only seem to have black, silvers, and very rarely some marbled fish. I'm very interested in gold crowned angels, and HOA clearly makes the claim that their angels havn't been inbred to the point of uselessness. Anyone have any reviews?

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I know this post was here a while so I don't know if you've gotten your angels yet, but I think it looks rather overpriced just imo. I got some angels from a breeder on another forum for $1 each + shipping. I got koi and gold marble ghosts, and she threw in a sunset blusher as an extra. They're only pea size, so you can watch them grow up and pair off. If you'd be interested I can give you her contact info. In any case good luck with the angels, they're a wonderful fish.

Thank you so much, castlequest, for responding. I havn't bought my angels yet (still getting the tank set up and cycled), so I greatly appreciate your input. Part of what interested me about HOA is that they make a big deal about introducing wild caught fish into their breeding lines. I know it's common in pet stores to find inbred angels that have had all the vigor bred right out of them, and I really want active, beautiful fish that will (hopefully) live for years.
If you don't mind, I'd love to get the contact info of the person you mentioned. I've also been looking on aquabid, and there are quite a few angel breeders selling there.
