Hey everyone,

I have a 29 gallon tank which I have 4 convicts in. Two of the convicts paired off and are getting ready to breed, so they became very aggressive. I read that they get the most aggressive when they lay the eggs, so I think that the other fish in the tank will get beaten up badly. If I take the other 2 convicts out ( they are about 1 and a half inches each ) and out them in my 55, which is stocked with 2 angelfish, 1 parrotfish, 4 kribs, 3 clown loaches, 1 catfish and a pleco, will the convicts cause problems with the other fish?

Thanks

You might be ok, theres only one way to find out and thats to try it, my cons arent that mean their just extremely teritorial but they dont bother other fish that arent in there part of the tank

ok thanks, those two are the more docile anyways, and I have many caves and decorations that they can hide and everything. Thanks for the reply.

I would say definitely move them. There's less of a chance of them bothering the new tank mate because the male of the other pair may even kill the two.

You could move the cons for the short term, but I really think your 55g is full enough now. I would be either finding a new home for the 2 cons or getting a new tank for them.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

It's better to move them to the 55 gal. tank & maybe start thinking of another tank for them.

Yeah the 55 will be temporary because i'll end up having to set up my other 29 for them, the pair is getting pretty aggressive so I might have to move them soon.

Thanks for the advice.
