Hey guys,

Well I'm starting a specie tank, discus.
The only other fish I'll keep with them is maybe one algae eating fish.
Um...otos are out of the questions, not too keep on them.
I was thinking either a SAE or a BN.

Which one is more suitable for a discus only tank? 4ft
There will be mosly juvenile discus in there.
Planted with amazon swords only and driftwood.

Regards,
Jim

I would recommend the bristlenose. Plecos can be found alongside discus in the wild, while the Siamese algae eaters cannot. Besides that, I believe that a bristlenose would be more tolerant of the higher temps in a discus tank. They are certainly a common choice for algae eaters in discus aquaria.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

I agree the BNs would be better, the SAEs can be very active and would possibly chase the discus too much. I know and have seen the SAEs trying remove the natural body slime of Angles they might try this with the discus as well

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
