As with most cichlids, firemouths are territorial and can be fairly agressive, especially when it comes time to breed. You may simply have too many of them in too small a space. They look very similar when smaller, but different when they get larger and mature up. One of them actually does get quite yellow. Do you have a pic you could share? If those are you're tank dimensions then with the fish you posted in bottom feeder frenzy you are grossly overstocked. |
