But last night the female would swim about mid-level with her dorsal fin raised and pelvic fins straight and face the male (which was around the cave/rock they hang out in). The two would face each other then the famale would "ram" the male and chace each other around the tank. The male would strike a similar pose but not "ram" the femlae. What kind of behavior is this PS: Later they swam together like normal... ![]() |

Rams in a group often challenge each other, even if they've shared the same tank for a long while. Bolivian rams are very much the same way. The pair swimming together might be a sign of male/female bonding, especially if they seem to stick close together. |

Your rams like each other but they can't quite decide who is boss in the relationship. Even after they establish that they still occasionally have minor flaring arguments but mine never actually chase each other anymore. Well the male did decide he no longer wanted the female gaurding the eggs and chased her off the last spawning but otherwise they just flare and then one backs down. |
