Good news is.. i purchased 4 angelfish last night. I'll get pics up eventually...

anywho. I've come across a dilemma.

I have pretty hefty currents in my 55 tank, i've got the water from the HOB filter on the right side, which isnt TOO bad.

but i also have a bubble wand that spans from the whole side of the other half of the tank. and it seems the current from that is knocking the angels over, and i dont have a power control to turn the current of air down, should i just turn it OFF? or... do i NEED the air from the bubble wand?

in any case, i dont wanna stress the angels out by them not being able to swim properly.

You would probably do fine turning the bubble wand off as most HOB filters provide enough surface aggitation to allow a constant supply of oxygen to the tank.

If you are worried about having enough aeration, replace the bubble wand with a small air stone. Put it in a corner and it is out of the way. And even if the angelfish do go over there, there aren't so many bubbles that it knocks them over.

I agree. The bubbles are pretty, but unnecessary as the HOB is a great surface agitator by itself. Later, you can buy kits that allow you control the airflow through the tubing going to your airpump and you can turn it up or down. Here's a link....they work great!!

The veil tails are beautiful...

They are very tiny, though. They are probably not more than 8-10 weeks old. What are you feeding them? Are they eating greedily, or not showing much interest in food? Make sure they eat! Baby Brine shrimp would make them very happy, I'm sure!
You may want to put a sponge or something over the inlet tube of your HOB filter. If they're getting knocked around by the current, those veil tails are easily sucked into a filter.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

they eat pretty good, although the mollies are kind of greedy, i've been making sure i see each one of them eat... i've been putting a little bit of everything in my tank, anything from tropical flakes, algae wafers, shrimp pellets, tubifex worms, blood worms, and betta bites...

i like to vary the diet, especially since i have so many diff fish in there.
