it maybe late, but i am guessing that their are livebeaers in the tank, so i wouldn't go more than a pair.

Rams need territories. if you are getting bolivians, only 2. If you are getting blue rams(german) no more than 3, that would be pushing it.

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

I would only get a pair & try to breed them.

Rams are my favorite fish ever and are bottom-oriented. They might force the pleco out of one of his homes in order to live in it. Also, if you read the profile on them you know that they are very sensitive and are not the masters on longevity. Overall, it would work if you're careful.

FF,

Rams live for a maximum of three years but they are very touchy about water quality. They like great water conditions and the water temps should be from 82 to 86F.

If you decide to get some rams for the 20, choose 5 fish. The reason for that number of fish is that you may get a pair from that group. If you are buying from a LFS, ask if the fish are from Asia. If they are, you will only get males.

If they are from a local breeder, ask them to choose two males and three females.

its from walmart i assume, i got 2 females from them , they died soon after, but then i also lost a male i got from a better fish store, i now have one male left, alisha, i would wait for the new shipment, after the new fishtanks at walmart come in, i think they will be healthier, and the guy will have more time to care for them and all, he said he wants them to be like guppies, meaning, perminant residents on his fish list, not like the botias or clown knife, he would like to keep these in stock, and i wouldent recomend putting them in an unfiltered tank, otherwise you would have to 2 water chnges a day, and even then, that would probably make water conditions worse
