Hey everyone! I'm really only posting this to tell you about my experience with my JD (named Dmitri Shostakovich, after the composer) and get some feedback on what you all think about him (and whether he's a him or a her...)
FishProfiles.com is really the only reason I have a Jack Dempsey, instead of just a betta in a little vase. He's brought me so much happiness, and I'm so grateful for all of the advice!
I got him in late August, and he was about an inch long. He's now over 5.5 inches, and I think he looks colorful, healthy, and happy. What do you all think? Any tips or advice, or does it seem like he's doing well?
Also, in the picture you can see how he piles up the rocks. Whenever I clean the tank and I vacuum the gravel, it knocks down his piles in the corner of the aquarium. Within 24 hours, his inner interior decorator has fixed them exactly the way he wants!
He eats out of my hand, he's so cute, and he's my baby! What do you all think?

Awwww its gorgeous. Methinks it wants a partner to make beautiful music with. Its obviously prepping nests.

He is the coolest! I heard that they are very beautiful, and want to see one up close. BTW, Awesome pics!
