I was recently given four 2-spot pike cichlids. They are about 4-5 inches long. Two of them got picked on and were removed. The remaining two seem to have paired up and are sharing a cave. Is that normal? Anyone have experience in pairing and breeding them? I thought the alpha fish would chase the other three out of the tank, not set up house with one.

Thanks for the address to the site. They have the 2-spot as being a much smaller pike than I've seen on other sites. That would explain them showing mating behavior at their size.
