Hey all, finally got some digital pics of my Oscars and Moori. Not very good quality, but still give you an idea of what my big hungry beasts look like.FishPicshttp://www.delta-automation.com.au/Fishpics/fishpics.html

Sorry, but it didn't work for me either. I got a page error.

I do, however, like "cichlidren". That's very cute.

I just tested the link from another location in Aus, and it works for me... any chance you could post the exact error(s)? Thanks

The links working for me. Some nice looking fish.

Have you had any problems with them destroying or digging up your live plants

Actually... the plants are ADDED for them to dig up and destroy It sounds crazy, but they don't fight (well, maybe once every month or two) and they never seem to act bored whilever there are plants to destroy and remove. I buy about $20AUD of 'weed' (toughest plants i can get) every 1 to 2 months and they progressively destroy them over that time... I guess they are 'spoilt' fish! I tried other toys (small plastic frogs and crabs, dinosaurs etc.) but they didn't like them.

My 'best buy' is healthy large purple temple. At about $5 per bunch (about 5 stems), they spend around 1.5 months removing every healthy leave. The temple starts to show new growth, and then the Oscars rip the remaining twigs apart. I make sure it's a challengewhen planted by bruying it deep in gravel or under the driftwood in the tank.

Thanks for the nice comments, i'll pass them on to my boys I'm sure Bazz would love to 'stud'...

I don't know how old Bazz is, i bought him from my LFS that size. They didn't know very much about him at all - of his origins, how he was kept previously, what he lived with or even why he was 'traded'. The only response i could get from them was "He's deformed..." And he is! His mouth doesn't close properly, and he looks slightly stunted to me, but he's still a beautiful fish. And, once he recovered from my attempts to keep him with my Oscars (who attacked him quite badly and he wouldn't eat for a month), he's shown he has some real personality! If you put any part of your hand near the tank, especially 'rapping' your fingers gently on the side or not quite touching the tank, he goes crazy and dances for you. He swims up and down the depth of the tank splashing when he gets to the top. I thought he was stressed, but you don't even need to touch the tank and he will perform for you.

He has a bit of trouble eating the Hikari pellets, but my GF and i take our time and feed him one at a time, helping him to catch them by holding them still with our fingers, if required. He's also taken to playing "Bazz the Shovel Head" by moving all the rocks from one end of the tank to the other. This earnt him the knick name "Bazz the Spazz".

It's working for me now. I don't know why it wasn't working earlier.

Nice fish.
