i think one of my red zebras is sick. i think this because he hangs around the heater at a 45 degree angle, but i dont know if he is b/c when i jiggle the heater to make him swim away he swims awayt fine stays upright NOT in his usual 45 defgree angle and swims around or just looks for food. tghe bigger one might b bullying him.they were the same size for as long as i have gad them then all of a sudden one of them shot right up.is he just hiding there or is he sick.
Water parems. are all ok except the nitrate is up a bit its inbetween the safe and unsafe location on my test kit.

My guess is the fish is being bullied and stays in the corner to avoid the other. I'm not sure which fish you are talking about, my first thought was a Malwi cichlid but you have posted in Tanganyikan forum so I dont know.

You'll need to fix the problem or the cornered fish will become sick from stress.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The best thing to do is not bother him but get him into a quaratine tank. If that is not possible, try to separate them somehow. Observe your fish really closely to see if there are any signs of disease. Is he/she eating?

Red zebras by nature are bullies and unless you have plenty of rocks ,caves, etc. to establish territories in your tank one may bully and torment others in the tank. This possibly sounds as if what maybe going on in your tank. If you don't already make sure you have plenty of caves and the sort for them to establish territories and this might possibly help.
Also,Red Zebras are Lake Malawi cichlids not Lake Tanganyikan cichlids.I figure thou you probably just made a mistake when posting.
