i had a pair of 2 bolivian rams in my 20G with 6 albino tiger barbs, 2 cories, and a bushy nose. when i first bought the pair, one died and the other one lived. then 2 a month later, i got two more, so in total of 3. one of the new one died last weekend, and the 2nd of the new one died today. so far i have the one left that i got in the first place. im scared to buy anymore bolivians. any suggestion on which cichlid i can add to my tank that are hardy to keep and will get along with my last bolivian ram?

Hey Feather.

What are your water perms? How long has this tank been up and running?

IME with bolivians, they are every hardy. Lord knows mine have put up with a lot of newb mistakes, and are still kicking.

Are you sure that the Barbs aren't nipping at your Rams?.
Do you have Plants in your tank?.
You need to add some more Corydoras to make them school.

Not off hand. Most are too aggressive, and too large, and too aggressive.

Not to mention, if you got that school of cories filled out. Plus got some Bolivians that lived. You would really be pushing that tankt to the max.

I'm wondering if you got them from the same store. Could be they have a bad supplier.

I'm also wondering what you have for filtration.

The rate of die off suggests that they might have been overloading your filter.

They are hardy but ammonia will kill them. wait a few weeks, then add 1 "count" 1 Bolivian from a dif source, and see how it goes.

I have two pair ???. The reason I bought then was because of how easy they are to keep, even in my tank with the other large fish.

I suggest take a sample of your tank water to the Aqu where you purchased them and explain what has happened. Dont buy any more until you get some very good reasons why it is all happening
