bettachris![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 ![]() ![]() | small around less than 3 inches, i was looking at them, i saw a few with a more rounded dorsal, <(frontosa) and in the birchandi i have two bigger ones and a smaller one, now, i had one for awhile, but in the past week i bought the other two at the same time, and looks to be about the same spawn, the larger one (i think male) has a longer dorsal than the other, but idk if that is just b/c it is bigger than the other one. i know finage is not the right way, due to fancier fish being produced, so what else is there to look for in young/small fish. |

Usually you'd spot a male frontosa in the group if it's alot more active and bosses the others around. Usually, it has the best territory also. Females would usually huddle around each other. This is IME, not facts, but it does work. Males would grow much more faster than the females also. Male brichardis usually have a small hump, while females have an even forehead. Fins hardly account for sexing frontosa and brichardi, rarely do they tell the story. |
