not a problem, the numer of Discus u can keep relates to how much water change you do. I say even up to 6 is fine if you do water change once or twice a week

i would say just a pair and no cories. discus are very sensitive fish who need prime water conditions with more than a pair the water would go bad quicker and discus are cichlids who do have territories

Alex,

The number of discus that you stock in the tank will be dependent on their size. Generally, the rule of thumb is one 6" discus for 10 gallons of water.

I would encourage you to choose a minimum of five juvenile discus for the tank. The higher number of discus and the odd number of discus reduces aggression among the fish.

Get yourself a python and become a firm believer in water changes. A water change of 25% per week is a minimum requirement. A water change of 25% is OK. A water change of 25% per day is great!
