I heard from my lfs that goldfish food is only meant for goldfishes. Although ingridients are almost the same but the food is still different from trop food. It's like humans eat dog food.

lfs tell people a lot of stories to sell them a more expensive products I feed my Jags gold fish pellets all the time they love them, they also get other treats as well

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."

Well...the formulas will probably differ a little, and there are many high quality color enhancing cichlid foods you can give your fish, rather than giving them the goldfish formula. I don't know for a fact how proven those foods are to be affective, and I'm sure that most cichlids, being the pigs they are, will go for anything, but if you have the option to buy it, go for the cichlid formula.

Have you tried giving them a mixed diet of fruit and vegs not all to gether naturally. There is no reason that a good and varied diet will not do the same thing.

You stated "seem to have similar ingrediants" that sums it up similar is totally different to the same as.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
