common issue with agression differences. LFS tanks are typically over crowded and this curves the agression level due to so many targets. the agression is still there full tilt but its so spread out among so many targets its not much of an issue.

I know this doesnt answer your question but thought i would help ya to understand the reasoning.

First of all, how big is your male and what size is your tank? It's possible that she was killed during mating. For the most part Fronts are fairly peaceful as far as Cichlids are concerned. They can get testy if they are cramped for space or housed with unsuitable tankmates. Usually fronts are best kept in groups of 5 or more so I'd recommend getting at least 4-5 more fronts provided that you have a large tank.

right now i am alittle concerned about getting more. also he is too small for breeding, b/c i don't even know if it is a male or not. they were around 2.5-3 inches. the tank is a 75g,

is it the tank change that made him become aggressive.

Maybe the frontie that was killed was not a female, but a male. They can get competative and as you've seen the weaker male loses. However at the size they are I would not of expected this behavior. What else is in their tank?
Are you absolutely positive it was the frontosa that did it? I never saw aggression like that from mine.

I also agree with dempsey fan, get a group of them. The tank you have isnt going to be good for them long term, but if you want to keep frontosa then you will need a bigger tank for them soon anyway. Singles/pairs do not work for these fish as they have a complex social structure.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

thinking about getting a 125G and a few more. i thought that males will grow faster, so when i got them, they were the same size, and then this one got big and fast. i think they are to young for the hump.

Dominate fish will tend to grow faster in most cases than the others, maybe that was the case of the size difference?
Why don't you wait till you get that bigger tank and then do a nice colony of fronts.
