I used to use a salt based water conditioner for my freshwater community setup which addes some minerals and adjust the gh.

Does a Discus setup need to have something like this? And if I will be using some other trace elements additives such as "Seachem Discus Trace", does any other salt based conditioner needed at all?

Is the conditioner used to dechlor the water or ad trace elements back into the water? If so on option 2, I use Discus Essentials once a month to help with any lost minerals in the water.

Here in Australia you can get either blackwater exyract or discus geo-liquid that put in and takes out minerals making it just right for discus.
