Right now their in the incubator. Also got some one month old Hap. Burtoni fry, that grow like crazy and breed like crazy. Also free Will ship if you'd pay for the shipping fee. In San Francisco |

The last batch of fry grew to about ( ) after a month, fed on crushed flakes and BBS. Amount given away will depend on the number of people that want them. Usually they spawn every month anyways, and theres four females which all bred. Zip Code: 94121 Last edited by inkodinkomalinko at 02-Aug-2005 21:38 |

They were only recently hatached. ![]() :wishes for a large enough tank to keep fronts: Just out of curiousity, as I have little to no knowledge of c-tilapia, what is generally considered the most "desirable" variation (or most expensive) of the frontosa? Also, how does breeding go about? What do you mean by incubator? |

All these variations occur in the wild and are not man made. To breed them, you'd need a colony with about 1 male:4 females. They mouthbrood like most other africans, so you can either strip them or let them hold (I choose to strip since the females will get harassed by other fish). Then you put the eggs in a egg tumbler (I call it an incubator). Eggs usually take about 1 to 1 1/2 week to hatch and 3 weeks to become free swimming without the egg case. |

These would find a welcome home in my breeder tanks, along with another colony of burundi that I currently own. Who says you can ever have to many fronts? Eventually mine will reach the point where they start to produce and I may find myself in your situation, but sadly that day is a ways off for now as mine are just now coming of age. |
