Pond Fish Survived Yet Another Winter | |
OldTimer Mega Fish USAF Retired Posts: 1181 Kudos: 1294 Votes: 809 Registered: 08-Feb-2005 | Well, I spent all morning cleaning up my wife's outdoor pond. Lots of leaves and the algae was really starting to kick in. Got it all cleaned out really well, checked on the lily pads as all are starting to send out new leaves. Did a large water change also. The three remaining gold fish survived yet another winter. A pair of ducks wiped out 5 or 6 last spring, but we've been able to keep them pretty much away this year, so that makes the wife happy. These three guys are what's left from eggs hatching out from some plants we picked up a couple of years ago so she's pretty attached to them. With any luck they'll make it another year Jim |
