The only difference is that the feeder comets are not nearly as good of quality (inbred, poor colors, etc) as the ones bred for pets. That's why they are feeders. bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | i disagree, the higher percentage of feeder fish are comet goldfish which are different than common, comet goldfish are not house pets, they are very active and are fast swimmers, so a large tank is a must. common goldfish dont have long flowing fins for ex. the tail. when i get home from work i will post a picture from my indoor goldfish tank. i will show you how to tell them apart, but really what size tank are u planning, as they will get big, and breeding should be done in big tanks. |

They are all feeders here, tail length makes no difference. There is also no difference in activity levels between goldfish with short tails ("regular" goldfish) and those with slightly longer tails ("comet" goldfish).
