i was thinking about getting a couple for my 29g is a 29 big enough and what else could i put with them

Adult bala's are too large for a 29(over a foot long), plus they should be in groups.

When selecting new fish, always check the maximum adult size.

Balas can grow to 14 inches and need a group of 5 minimum... but they tend to be a peaceful species.

They are very timid and are known to hit their heads on the glass. They are very active and like a group...therefore a 125g should be minimum. They are peaceful, but skittish....so keep them in an appropriate tank (not a 29g).
