Here are two of my smaller RT Sharks eating pear at the same time. The large one had a feed earler. Now what is the story about you cannot keep more that one RTS in the same tank?

Great pics.

The RTBS's look great, as do the opalines.

Just curious, though. Did the pear require any sort of special preparation to get it ready for the tank? I mean, the pears around here at least are sort of mushy. I'd be afraid that it would pretty much disintegrate once it hit the water...

Actually that pear was over ripe. I tied it with 15lb fishing line to keep it suspended. The mid and larger species just rip it appart and the bottom dwellers and the small shy fish pick up the small pieces that drift down.

We went out for dinner and I forgot to remove the left over before we went out. 4 hrs later I removed just the shell of the core from the bottom. Next morning the tank perfectly clear no problems at all.

I've heard people say that any shark will live peacefully with others of the same species when you keep them together from a very young age. You have to put them in at the same time, though!

Keith,
I thought you might like this photo I took of a RTS, I just got about 2 weeks ago eating on a cucumber. Sorry! About the photo quality.

No they were put in at different times. I also have the large 4+ins RTS as well. He only chases a feeding time, but now he is kept in check by the largest of the Clown Loaches at feeding time.

I have never tried Cucumber must try it, going shopping tomorrow. Is it any particular variety of Cucumber.

Hey Keith,
As far as I know it's just plain regular cucumber. I just size it raw and place it in the tank.Attacted to the Nemo clip of course.

Like any other situation, there is an exception to the rule keith. I'm glad your two RTS seem to be getting along fine, but the rule IMO and IME is that I will never put an RTS and another RTS or Rainbow Shark together to prevent the possibility of trouble. Whether someone follows my advice or not is their choice...

No actually I have three RTS those are the two small ones. I knew ther could be trouble with more than one but the big difference is my tank every fish can have its own area or share it with another fish if they decide to do that.
The tank is extremly heaverly planted and caves everwhere. As a matter of fact I made another one today bu putting a bigger support for the large driftwod, this divided one of the large caves into two sections.

And I know you well enough that I'm not too concerned about it. I figured they must have an area for themselves, otherwise, you wouldn't have them all together. I'll sitll recommend to anyone that I find that they shouldn't be kept together, but you're more than welcome to chime in that you did it successfully under jungle conditions...

Nice Tank! My RTBS is almost 8 yrs old. He isnt as active as he used to be. He hides all day in this barrel in his tank. He comes out at night to feed.

Great photos Keith, and I have to agree with you on the RTBS, that when given enough space and hiding places that a couple can be kept in the same tank. I did it numerous years ago without any difficulties, but as suggested by others it doesn't always work out.
