What are you trying to feed it? And what other fish are in the tank with it? Maybe it's afraid to eat because its tankmates are bullies at feeding time, or it could be frightened of your presence. Is it usually scared when you are near the fish tank?

How big are those Oscars?

Remember that Oscars are big, predatory brutes and there's a chance that your Rainbow Shark is wisely keeping out of the way!

Not to mention those Walking Catfishes ... yeep, you've got some bruisers in there! It's a wonder the poor Rainbow Shark isn't scared out of its wits! Or for that matter has ended up as lunch for the Walking Cats ...

As for food, Rainbow Sharks or Red-Finned Sharks (there are two closely related species, Labeo erythrurus and Labeo frenatus, but telling them apart requires a professional taxonomist) are herbivorous algal grazers that will relish the addition of vegetable matter to the diet. Small pieces of lettuce, a small slice of courgette/zucchini, celery tops, this kind of thing. Failing that, algae wafers will also keep a Rainbow Shark happy.

Mind you, in the case of your Rainbow Shark, it would probably be a LOT happier still with less scary companions ...

When I had my rainbow shark, Jaws, he was afraid of lights. So were my albinos. They liked to hide and I never saw them eat, but they obviosly did otherwise they wouldnt have lived so long. Try sinking pellets along with the flakes and freeze-dryed worm cubes.

Sounds like he is being bullied and too afraid to get food.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

How big is the tank & how big are the fish that you have?.

I also think that he's being bullied & so, afraid to come out & eat.
