spankym13 Hobbyist Posts: 147 Kudos: 56 Votes: 1 Registered: 08-Jun-2007 | Hey guys! I know I been posting a lot about this tank. I'm going to try and put some real plants in it maybe some moss. And just kinda give my tank a new look! Im thinking neon tetras and featherfin rainbows. Maybe some kinda of small dwarf gourami????? And What kind of cleaner/bottom feeder would be best in a 20gal hex? Some type of shrimp???? or is there a good fish out there? Also the guy a the fish store said I should use about 3w of light per gallon for most of the plants he has???? |

I personally would go for one species only and certainly not Neon Tetras as there can be too many problems with them Cardinal tetras are a far stronger fish and less likely to have disease problems. Bottom feeder I have Ottos and Khuli loaches in my 45lt Cardinal tank. Lighting 3W per gal should be OK providing you get the correct type of light I have a twin unit with a plant and daylight tube. How tall is your tank? Planted tanks prefer 3-4ins of 1-3mm of a good quality river pebbles. Plants its what you want not what your LFS has be polite and tell them that. If your tank is deep there "could be" lighting issues. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I was pleasantly surprised at the size, color and activity level of the columbian tetras. I'll probably get a few more. |
