I would ask how long has it been "lying around" as you put it? Depending how long since it has been used it could easly have some leaks. Fill it up first and see what happens then decide what you can do with it. To test it I would certainly not do it inside just in case. Being lying around it might be OK for a while then it could easly start leaking.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

if it does leak you can strip the tank and re caulk it with AQUARIUM Caulking, which is non toxic obviously.
cheaper them buying a new tank

Jerrard, I didn't even think of using AQUARIUM cauckink for my ten gallon tankt that I badly cracked when carrying it. So I threw it off my roof into my pool It Broke

We're only allowed fish tanks and caged birds in our apartments, as is generally the case in Victoria.

I checked mine for leaks in my bathtub, which (of course) was only for about 24 hours, although I did it three times hoping that'd help. Now I just hope that it doesn't develop a slooooow leak from a weak spot.

I vote! Do you?
