I don't think featherfin synos will eat smaller fish. I had mine (full grown) in with juvenile brichardis that were well under an inch long. Brichardis aren't super fast-moving either. They didn't get eaten.

Yeah, that *should* work out okay. The rams are probably the most aggressive fish in there, though that isn't saying much. Sounds like a pretty nice tank setup.

yes it will unfortunately.
The Featherfin syno gets to be at least 6 inches and will definetly eat small fish. I have glowlights and danios and that is why I avoided getting this fish. I wouldnt trust it with small fish.
I think you would be better off with a raphael or a banjo catfish.
I dont believe Raphaels would eat Cardinals.
Ive seen this fish often kept with guppies, neons, and danios.

The raphael cat would eat the cardinals once it gets to be a good size.

And they are extremely nocturnal. I haven't seen my stiped raphael in about six months...

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Yes, you could have a raphael catfish. The striped ones are smaller, so I would reccomend them.
Your list:
1 Angel
4 Rams
6 Hatchets
10 Cards
8 Corys
2 USD Cats
1 Raphael Catfish
That sounds really good to me.
I still think you could up the number of Hatchets too, espescially now that youve dropped the extra Angels.
Angels will NOT stunt in a 42g tank. Thats ridiculous. 20g maybe, but Anything over 33 will be fine for Angels.
I would say up the number of Hatchets to 10 as well.
Which kind of Hatchets are you going to get? That would really give me more info.
Is the tank going to be planted?

Alex, have you actually seen a queen arabesque or gold nugget plec for sale in Aus? If so please tell us! As far as i'm aware they are extremely rare and very costly.

Can't comment on a Rubbernose, but albino Bristlenose are a favourite of mine. They are more golden than 'albino', and all the ones I have seen/bought have paler cream spots on a golden rich egg yolk body colour. Great fish! And, I've always thought they could be an aquatic 'dog' with their snuffly noses as they munch along ! ! ! Very endearing. I find. Personally.

A gold nugget pleco would grow too large, and the queen arabesque pleco isn't a good algae eater. I'd recommend a bristlenose instead, and dumping the upside down cats. They will take up too much space with a pleco in the tank.

1 angel
4 rams
6hatchets
2upside down cats
10cards
8corys
1 queen arbesque pleco or 1gold nugget pleco

i took away 3 angels as im told they will stunt and ive added a pleco to get rid of algae and to be a centerpiece catfish
