If so, and it is cycled, then heres your list: "6 zebra danios (just bought these to test the water) 1 Pleco 1 glass cat 1 black tetra 1 white (?) tetra" I would say go with this to start: 6 Danio 6 glass cat 1 Pleco 6 Black Tetra 6 White Tetra Or you could trade in the white and black tetras and go for a large school of something completely different. Schooling fish really need to be in schools. Heres some other good combos too: 6 Danio 6 Glass Cat 1 Pleco 6 Yoyo Loaches or any other 4" or smaller loach (kuhli, zebra, queen, tiger, etc) 1 School of a colorful smaller schooler - White Clouds, Pristella Tetras, Glowlight Tetras, Neons, Black Neons, Cochus Blue Tetras, Rummynose Tetras, Lemon Tetras, Silvertip Tetras, Bloodfin Tetras, Harlequin Rasboras, Pencilfish, dwarf rainbow.... Say a school or 10-14 of these depending on which you pick. _______ 6 Glass Cat 1 PLeco 6 Black Tetras 6 Glowlight Tetra 4 Yoyo Loaches Are your tetras Black Skirt and White Skirt tetras? Black tetra and white tetra are kinda generic and not very obvious as to species. With a 55g tank, you could easily put around 60-65 inches of fish, and still be ok. As long as water changes are maintained and filtration is OK, you could keep a lot of different kinds of fish. I have no trouble with them but also I have had many years experience in Aqu keeping. I think your tank could be a bit too small when they get a little older. They will be much happier and healthier that way. Also I wouldn't recommend clown loaches at this stage - they can be quite e to ich, also do better in groups and eventually need a very large tank. As you'll see from a lot of posts on this site, there are many people fighting ich in their clown loaches and unfortunately they don't always win ![]() So for now, fill out your tetra schools and maybe plan to have loaches, puffers or other hard-to-keep fish a little further down the track. ![]() Last edited by whetu at 11-Nov-2004 01:00 |
