Sounds pretty good, except the Raphaels will eat the Rummynoses if they can catch them (like when they are resting at night). I'd substitute the doradids for a couple of Bristlenoses.

Also, if you get a pair of gouramis, make sure they are both female.

Prob. a silly question, but, why?

Because two male Trichogaster gouramis will fight non-stop, until one of them gets so stressed out that it will probably die if not removed. Dominant males tend to harrass lesser males constantly, as well as prevent them from eating enough food at feeding time.

While not as extreme a problem, a male and a female gourami generally don't work either. Usually the male will become aggressive to the female and treat her similarly as he would a subordinate male (chasing, etc). Sometimes, the gouramis will pair up and attempt to breed in a community tank, but after spawning, male gouramis become extremely aggressive towards the female.

When kept in female/female pairs, there will definitely be a hierarchy and some chasing, but it will not go on to the extent it would if one of the gouramis was male. Keeping a trio of gouramis with one male and two females generally works, because there is not one single fish in particular taking the majority of the male's aggression.
