I added to stock 3 female mollys 4 three lined corys 1 red parrotfish That should top me off. But.... To make the day better, I picked up a Eheim canister filter. Yeah, it's the little one - the 2213 classic. But it's a great addition, once I figured out the physics of it. Of course, the physics followed the gallon of fishwater on the floor. Oh well. It's up and running now, with the HOB. Thanks all. Specially you Labra. |

Welcome to the world of trouble free filtration. Q did you read all the instructions first???? I have the larger Pro11 excellent filters. Example - there are parts that aren't mentioned at all in the instructions. The thing comes with a single tube and the instructions don't suggest cutting the tube - rather elementary, give, but still. I'm hoping it's just that a LOT was lost in translation. And thanks. I'm so excited to e able to just relax and know I've enough filtration. Is there really such a thing as TOO much filtration? My HOB is supposed to handle up to 100g and the canister 60g. That means my 46g has about 160g worth of filtration. Hmmm. I feel like Tim at Tool Time!! |

However, be prepared to spend about 3 hours when you decide to clean it, have towels and such nearby. These suckers are a "female dog" to get started once they stop. I still cannot understand why Eheim has not gotten on the bandwagon and added the 5 dollar quick start valve!!! Come Play Yahtzee With Me! http://games.atari.com Http://www.myleague.com/yahtgames |

I was thinking of getting an extra two couplings (those things that fit two pieces of tube together, but allow you to shut off the flow). I'll put those at the end of the hoses - as far away from teh canister as I can. That way I'll have tubes full of water, instead of a mouthful! |
