If the shrimp are already well fed, then they shouldn't be interested in eggs. It also depends on how well the parents gaurd the nest.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Adult Rams will be fine with the shrimp. The shrimp will, however, eat the eggs if they can get to them. Almost all shrimp, including Amanos, are opportunists and won't pass up something as nutritious as eggs.

Unfortunately, Rams are known for being crappy parents, so don't be surprised if the eggs get eaten. It would best not to have shrimp in the tank at all if you want babies, unless you want some sort of filter-feeding shrimp.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

They aren't always good parents. Check out the photo booth...I think its longhairedgit that has a picture of male blue ram eating some eggs. I think it depends on the particular fish. Well actually, I'd go by Cory Addicts info...she knows her stuff. She says they are crappy parents...I believe her.

They sure do eat eggs, they can be lousy parents. This particular fish took to eating the eggs of other fish too, and yes the amanos will eat the eggs it misses!

I tend to have to remove eggs from my tanks these days, and the mother too, if brood care is required.

Will Amano Shrimp survive in a Cichlid Tank (Severum, Parot Cichlid, e.g.)?

Those are large fish that will treat shrimp as snacks.
