You probably got a different type of wood than he did. I'd give it some time and see what happens. You may eventually have to attach it to some slate or something like that to weigh it down. |

The heaver it is I am not talking about the actual size of the wood but its actual hardness it is then more likely to sink. Some woods will always sink and others will always float no matter what you do. The wood you have might be a sinker but it is dry inside Just soak it for several weeks and to hold it down put a few big rocks on top of it. If after all that it still does not sink you will have to screw it to a piece of slate using stainless steel screws . Keith mentioned attaching slate to it, I have found it is earier to attach a stone floor tile, it's thinnner and easier to work with....the weight and the gravel will hold it down. If all else fails you can use aqurium silicone and attack it to the bottom of the tank....This is gernerally done before the tank is established, but if you really love that peace of wood, just another opion Djrichie "So Long, and Thanks For All The Fish" Douglas Adams ![]() |

By boiling it you have broken down the wood fibres and this actually speeds up the break down process. I can buy slate floor tiles easy and they can be as thin as 1/4 inch -6mm or even thinner I wanted a few pieces and I got a broken tile free.
