coop Enthusiast Posts: 168 Kudos: 60 Votes: 2 Registered: 25-Jan-2006 | does this sound alright? 50G 3 pearl gouramis 6 zebra danios 15 harlequins 3 yoyo's 3 thick-lipped ouramis does any one no of a asian foreground plant? water sprite is asian isnt it? it will have pool filter sand as substrate snd it has a huge piece of driftewood ready to go in it. |

I don't know much about the thick-lipped type though, so maybe they will be ok in a trio. You could use some small crypts as a foreground plant...maybe Crypt parva or petchii. I think dwarf hairgrass is Asian...it will require medium to high light though. If the yoyos are going to be your only bottom fish, you could up the number to 5 or 6. They are very entertaining, just make sure you have lots of plants for them to hide in. |

Some can get pretty big around though...so you have to remember that. 4-5 should be fine though. They like hiding places...and the DW will be great. Mine hang out under my DW. Plantgeek and Tropica say watersprite is Pan Tropic. I think that means its found in all the tropic areas. When I do a search on tropica for Asian plants, it comes up...so I think you could include it in your Asian biotope. And if you already have the gouramis and they are fine together, then go for it. I was just afraid of you having 6 new gouramis in a tank. Things can go wrong in that situation. |
