As far as best brand I think every one has their particular brand they prefer. Regardless of the brand I think stick to a well know brand and you should be able to rely on their product. Some brands do have a processed or use by date though this is rare these days in some brands. Over the years I have used most of the well known brands and never a problem.

I would never buy the lose packed in clear plastic bags, yes it is usually cheeper because it is a cheeper product.

HBH, Mostly the Spirulina. (africans)
But any flakes I buy are HBH.

Though all of my other foods are Wardley.

Both quality brands.

Check out the www.omegasea.net brand. They have flakes, pellets, veggie wafers, and now have bloodworms and some other new products. All my fish get Omega One as a staple. It doesn't contain fishmeal as a binder and uses whole salmon as a main ingredient, except for the veggie products which I believe consist mainly of kelp.

I don't use flakes anymore, but when I was I belive I was using tetra.

Now I'm on to bioblend and tetra shrimp pellets, along with peas, bottom feeder wafers and occasional frozens.
