I've asked questions about this one of the apistogramma forums & a couple suggested that this particular fish is unlikely to be weaned to pellets etc. I have had them around 10 day & they have not taken pellets, frozen cichlid dinner or flakes at all. They have taken only live brine shrimp & last night, I tried black worms with success. What I didn't like though, was how quickly the black worms escaped from the feeding cone. Is there a trick or some other way to keep them confined. Although I only put in a few, most quickly escaped before my fish knew they were there. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Cheers TW |

My smaller tanks with killies, threadfins, harlies, cardinals etc etc i can't very well put a load in there and pray they eat them all. What i do is use an eye dropper to suck up a few worms from my little glad container with wormies in it, and just squirt a few in there in the fish's general direction. They'll munch em up and you don't have to worry about excess getting away and burrowing into the gravel. I find this method not only conserves my worms, it also helps to ensure that each fish can be fed. It takes a bit more time to do, but is really fun and worth it ![]() n-joy, Tim |
