Hello John, my cousin just bought one for his tank, all i really know is that when they get bigger(and they can get big) it is a possibility they could eat smaller fish. oh ya and they are really neat looking fish, and somewhat blind. Whay size tank you got? sorry i couldn't help you

i currently have about 7 of them, but over the years i have had many. My largest ever was about 24 inches long.

They seem to go into shock very easily, so avoid sudden water changes with cooler warm. They like clear or pumbling pipes, so provide areas for rest. They shouldnt be kept with smaller fishes, as they can feed on smaller fishes.

They will fight, unless there are enough gallons and enough hiding spots.

What are the number og gallons we are dealing with. They need about 75 gllons per fish.

Hi,
Find the March 2007 issue of Aquarium Fish International
Magazine. On page 24, Spencer Glass writes a very
interesting article on these fish.
