I just recently moved to Boston and had to give away my fishies to good homes (sad, but they are happy). Now I am trying to get my tank set up again but I am having an extremely difficult time finding good aquarium stores close which is important because I don't have a car and can only get places by public transportation. So, if anyone knows of good aquarium shops in Boston close to public transportation please let me know. OR...if you have any advice on ordering fish online I definitely need it because I don't want to order any from unreliable sources. Also, any advice on online stores for supplies would be greatly appreciated as well (I have looked at aquarium guys and they look like they have pretty good deals but I haven't really compared them with other online shops). I may need some advice on stocking my 20g high tank later but for now I just need to figure out what my options are.

Oh, also because of my situation I am wanting to do fishless cycling but am worried about finding a bacteria source. I did keep my biowheel from my old tank wet but it has been a little over a month and so I don't know if that will be a good enough source. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi
I'm sure we have some members in the Boston area that can
send you off in the correct direction.
As far as fish-less cycling is concerned, you don't need
any bacteria, just some regular, unscented, ammonia from
any grocery store.

Follow the directions in this link:

I edited your topic, hopefully you'll get some more local help now .

I've used Big Als for everything but fish, they're pretty good. I like the double points wednesdays that they have, although I never had a chance to get points traded in since I left the country .

That Fish Place also seems to have similar prices, never ordered from them but had fun wandering around their store up in PA once. They had a huge touch tank pond .

I know some people here have used online fish providers, you might want to consider purchasing sooner rather than next month as the weather starts cooling down.
