How big is the tank?

The butterflies certainly won't bother the fish you have left in there. They are predacious but all your fish are pretty good-sized. They are strictly surface dwelling. One thing I am concerned about, though, is how the danios might stress the butterflies. Butterflies tend to appreciate calmer settings, and the frenetic dashing of danios could be a bit annoying for it.

Another point: butterflies are amazing jumpers. They NEED a tight-fitting lid or you'll be picking up a dead fish off the floor soon after you get it.

The experience with butterfly fishes and its predation varies between people. Some people have had these fish not touch little fish, and others have had them wipe them out. Personally I wouldn't take the chance.

Ive kept a few of these gorgeous fish in my time!
I would not recommend keeping them with fish that are small enough to fit into their trap-door mouths! should your fish be bigger than their mouths you should find your ok.

Would also recommend a tight fitting lid as they tend to jump. One of mine jumped out during a tank clean! saved it though

Also would recommend plants for it to hide under and in between.

If you do end up trying one, pick up some baby crickets from your LFS next time you're there, they LOVE to eat them. I also agree with the floating plants, they'll greatly appreciate a place to rest when they're not resting.
