Ok guys, I have some interesting things going on with my breeder tank.

First, the water is very, very cloudy, and I can't figure out why. See:
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/168/462915149_bdfe262e89_o.jpg (please ignore the bad-morning-photo-shot glare)

The water temp is fine...a little on the cool side (74F) but that's because it's morning and we had a very cool night last night. But it's cloudy even when the water temp is around 78-80F. The tank, gravel, and plant were all washed with plain water, (the tank was wiped down with a water/very mild ammonia mixture, then thoroughly rinsed with water) before adding water. The water came part from my 55g tank and part treated/aged water. Params are fine, PH is 7, NO2/NO3 both fine. I've had Zebra Danios in the tank for about 3 days now. I'm using a UGF.

Which brings me to the second issue. The UGF is bubbling up like a madman, and the entire surface of the water is covered with tiny bubbles that are not going away. It looks like I have detergent in the water, which I don't. See:

I thought at first it was the power of the airpump, which is actually rated for a 20g, so I put a regulator on the airline and turned it wayyyyy down. But it still is bubbling up inside, and then outside really bad.

Tonight I'm going to do a water change, and I'm going to go ahead and change out the filter cartridge in the UGF upright. Any other thoughts or ideas?

Listen! Do you smell that?

Its just new tank syndrome. It will take days and maybe a week before the cloudiness will go away.

I thought that at first, and maybe. I've just never had a tank stay that cloudy that long. It's been running for several days already.

I guess it's because I JUST have the UGF in it. Normally I have a HOB as well.

If it bothers you that much, you could always add AquaClear.

Well, the only reason it's bothering me is because I wanted to make sure something wasn't wrong! Combine the cloudy water with the super-bubbles on top of the water, and I was concerned.

Hi,
How are the fish doing? If they are acting normally
and eating well, Like Acid, I suspect its just the new
tank. Sometimes, a new fish food can cause that as well.
Check the amount of fish oil that is in the food if that
is a possibility.

Fish are acting normal, which is why I'm not all too worried. It does seem to be clearing up a little today.

The food is the same food I feed in my big tank, but then again, different filtration.

The bubbling problem has eased off a bit, I removed the white thinger from the end of the airtube inside the upright and just let the rigid tube stay, so larger air bubbles come out. It still seems to be working, and it's still bubbling on top of the water a bit, but not as bad. I'm still going to do a water change tonight and hope that cuts down on things.
