I have an RO/DI filter that i use for a saltwater tank. i also use the water for my freshwater tanks. I am worried that it is to pure for my fish. i recently started dosing it with freshwater aquarium salt at 1 tablespoon for 5 gallons like it is directed. I also use a plant fertilizer. My tank reads a KH of 4 degrees and GH of 0-1 Degree and i have a pH of 6.8(i have a yeast CO2 system).

Is this good for the fish. I have Calcium carbonate and calcium clouride available to me. How should i condition my water.

Thanks.

Hi
Actually, the best way to "condition" your RO water is
to mix it with some of your tap water. Reconstituting
the water will just lead to problems as you add some
things, and leave out others.

I use Distilled water for my killifish, and i add the reclaim chemistry Kent R/O Right. It's a crystal additive that replaces all essential elements back into the water for your fish. You can vary the dosage for specific pH's and hardnesses. Seachem also makes a nice reclaim chemistry.
