I got some info from my LFS, and I just want see what someone who isn't selling the products to me has to say.

1. Theres a frozen food product called "Marine Cuisine" that's usually bought by people with marine tanks for their fish. I was told that this would also be suitable for feeding to my freshwater fish. What do you guys think?

2. I was also told that it would be good for the fish to feed them frozen food twice a week. I've been feeding them frozen bloodworms and mysis shrimp once a week and am wondering if it would be better for them to get frozen food twice a week. I know why the LFS guy would recommend feeding my fish frozen food- it costs a lot more than flake- but is it good for the fish? I don't see how it would unless it's too rich and will make them overweight.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think it would hurt them to feed them frozen twice a week but I also don't think you need to. The Marine Quisine is a gimmick, you're paying for packaging. What you're doing now sounds fine. Unless you are trying to breed them I'd just keep doing what you're doing.

I thought the marine cuisine was a bit of a rip- it does cost a bit more than the other frozen foods at the LFS.

Every other day I feed a 1-1/2 cubes of Hikari Bloodworms in my 55 gallon and 1/2 of one in my 18 gallon tall. I let the cube in the 18 gallon thaw half-way and let it drop half of the Bloodworms from that cube then transfer it and another whole cube to my 55 gallon. That means they only get about 3-4 worms on average each. No matter what the size of the tank and/or amount of fish I would feed bloodworms every other day.

If you have a small tank, I would just get the kind where you break off sections instead of cubes that way you can regulate the amount and avoid the fears of giving them to much of the "rich" foods making your fish fat.

You can also go back and forth between the Mysis Shrimp and Bloodworms. Your fish will thank you for it. I know that mine do.

I have the break off kind of bloodworms- they seemed to make the most sense because I give my bettas frozen bloodworms twice a week and my puffer gets them 3 times a week.

When I feed my 20 gallon community tank, I usually feed one cube of mysis shrimp with a few bloodworms (leftovers from feeding my bettas).

I think I will start feeding frozen food more often- that way my cories maight avoid eating their eggs when they spawn and I miht get some fry.

I feed mine four small 1/2 cubes of frozen blood worms three times a week.

Never had a problem
