I'm going to put my small bichir in a 6gallon till he gets a little bigger i will do water changes 2x a week. The tank i got didnt come with a hood tho and i was wundering what i could use to cover it? thanks fish1

you might want to try a local glass shop they can cut glass to specific size and shape, and you could get a small light from a hardware store. hope this helps

you could cut plastic canvas to the right size or even just use Glad wrap.

Aluminum foil will work well too, and you can form it, and bend it over the edges for added security.

Plexi will work just fine, just make sure it doesn't have any residues left on it just in case the fish jumps or splashes water up
