as part of their diet?
(I posted that in this area because of SO very many more people here than in Tetra forum area, please)

(not looking for "an algae eater", I have a bristlenose already)But the tank is full of Neons....and I heard recently somewhere that they do eat algae in the tank.

Is that one of the(Neon)Tetra's attributes, Please?

No, most characins are carnivores.

I didn't mean off the glass, but bits on rocks and objects in tank to get just a little vegetable matter.

So they probably wouldn't eat little bits off live fine leafed plants either?
(like anacharis or Java Fern/Moss)?

I was just about to buy some of those floating plants for the tank...but also because I'd heard fish munch on those to get "veggies" in their diet.

OK

they might nip at them a bit, but not enough to make a difference on the plants... they should grow just fine with neon tetras provided they have the correct ferts and lights.

I only have Cardinal Tetras and they are in the Betta tank next to the computer that means I am observing them a lot. I dont think I have seen them attempting to eat any algae at all. Yet they will eat cooked peas easily.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
