HELP! Missing clown loach! | |
platyfish124 Small Fry Posts: 8 Kudos: 5 Votes: 9 Registered: 24-Aug-2006 | Can someone help me? I lost a clown loach in a 20 gallon tank! Originally they were just here to get rid of snails but they became permanent residents. Now its either dead or alive in a tank full of algae |

First I would try to take care of the algae problem. Ff it's really bad enough that you can't find the fish in the tank, than that is something that should be acknowledged. Check the floor too.. not uncommon for fish to find their way out. Especially if they are too big for the tank. Good Luck "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |

They can hide very easly invery small areas. Certainly clean up all that algae problem. I have not known for CLs to jump out of a tank mine have never, but it is possible also do a full filter check. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. I've got 6 in my tank, and a few are upwards of 6-7" and i can't find them sometimes!! I agree, clean up that algae and you should find him |

Oh yeah i already cleaned up most of the algae. The clown loaches are currently 2 inches long. My dad already moved all the tenants out into a 32 gallon tank last night. So now i am starting to think he may have dropped the fish while he was moving it. |

I remember, thinking I had lost a CL & ripping apart the tank searching for him and doing an area search on the outside of the tank in case it jumped out. Well I found nothing neither inside or out the tank, leaving me puzzled. 2days later the CL magically appeared. Must've been under the substarte & stayed hiden even after I ran my finger thru it. My dad emptied out the tank because of all the algae and to find the clown loach but there was no clown loach. |
