Has anyone here heard of a company called hi-q? I had seen on of their Eco Magic filter systems in a store in Boston Mass for testing. It claims for eliminate the need for water changes, now I don't know about that... But the guy in the store said it's working find and he would recommend it to anyone even if they did do water changes. So I decided to go to the internet to see if anyone has had any experience with this thing? They're site is http://hiq-usa.com

There is no filtration system with which you will never need to do another water change. It may be very good at removing nitrogenous wastes, but eventually other things that build up more slowly will necessitate water changes in order for your fish to be healthy. All they have done is combine several types of filtration into one overpriced "system." I think you can set up an RUGF and HOB on the same tank for less money and about the same effect.

Every once in a while you get people trying to take your money with "never change your water again" schemes, but the span from the hyped (like this) to the outright ridiculous (Eco-Aqualizer for example)

OH boy that is Snake Oil at its best, one for the first time buyers who know no better.
Next they will be saying there is no evaporation either.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Fair enough. But I've read some reviews on this thing by maqo.org. Supposed it doesn't completely eliminate the need to for water changes but feel like this could really help me out between my bi monthly water changes?

Superlion, I already have a HOB filter this is for additional filtration. I know for a fact that the mineral blocks inside these towers would work well. Turns our the towers contain the same stuff as the eco bio block(which i read a good review in FAMA on) but the eco magic has like 16 more oz of mineral rocks ( tech page) than the most expensive eco bio block.

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165354&page=1 there's a guy here doing a test with them. It looks pretty good.

Have you guys had any experience with these mineral blocks.
