I have a female orange Platy and 2 male Platy (miss sold by LFS) they are chasing her round constantly and she definately looks pregnant. Anyway I also have 5 make Guppies they have now started joining in chasing her round? Is it NORMAL for any breed of Male fish to chase any breed of femal fish or is it just Guppy behavior?

I think I will buy her a little tank of her own so she's out of the way but then I have 2 female Mollies and I don't see them get chased around by the Men in the tank?

It is not uncommon for male livebearers to constantly chase female livebearers, even if they are completely different species.

The platies and guppies cannot interbreed, so fortunately you just have platy babies and not hybrids. It is possible, though rare, for mollies and guppies to hybridize with one another because they are more closely related.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Again what is "Nornal" in fish keeping nothing ever seems "Normal" as far as behaviour. Yes it certainly can happen, some times it looks like a pack of mixed breed dogs chasing one female dog all over town.

If possible can you get more females or replace the male with another female Platy.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

i agree that it would be best to seperate out your female, as the chasing and harrassment can cause alot of stress and ultimately kill her... as for your question... those two took care of that for ya... good luck!
