It's fine.

In fact, I use grocery store shrimp in a DIY food formula that I feed to my cichlids - a mixture of shrimp, green pea, spirulina and multivitamin.

Haha, you guys are funny. There is nothing wrong with feeding your fish shrimp.

Goldfish need more than just raw protein. They need their veggies too.

As an aside, I really hope the listed fish aren't being kept in the same tank, and that the goldfish are in a pond.

They are also good for puffers, many of the larger puffers love a good fat shrimp!

I buy the small, frozen shrimp for my fish. Most of my fish love it and it doesn't last long in the tank. I feed it to my Bichirs, Arowana, Cigar Shark, Plecos and Oscars. Oddly, my Jack Dempsey won't touch it.

I feed my goldie, and guppies the little precooked, salad shrimp, whenever I have them...it's not a whole lot at a time, but enough to give them a taste or two or three...then again, I've been known to "sneak" boiled colliflower out of the school cafeteria , wash it off it, and break it up and feed the baby goldies in the classroom it...they all seem to love veggies, and shrimp...

My bichirs, gobies, lungfish, and some cats get previously-frozen, raw shimp from the grocery on a fairly regular basis.

I don't currently have any fish that I feed on a diet of shrimp, but the fish I fed them to included ropefish and catfish. The plan, if I ever get around to buying them, is also to feed shrimp to my Lionfish and Moray Eel... Shrimp is a mighty good food for your fish in my opinion. Of course, remember to vary the diet, especially if your fish isn't a pure carnivore. Feeding only shrimp is probably not a good idea as your fish probably are not going to get all nutrition they need, however I don't believe that shrimp is something fish need to take in moderation.

feeding them humans shrimp is fine, tho the shrimp are sprayed with a chemical to help them stop from discoloring in the shop, this can be removed by either peeling, rinsing or to play it safe, boiling the shrimp for a while.

Haha, you guys are funny. There is nothing wrong with feeding your fish shrimp. In fact, I have kept fish on a diet of raw shrimp meat (and other seafood meats) without problems.

you could probably even feed them raw, providing they were freshly caught and SW, as there are very few SW pathogens that will infect FW fish.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

I am 99% sure they are fine. The best type IMO are the ones you can get fresh from fish stalls in supermarkets. The ones where they have all the fish on top of ice and they are caught fresh from around the world.

It's definitely wrong to feed your fish grocery-store shrimp. It's too good not to eat yourself.

In the wild some species thrive on them.

Only raw or plain boiled, but not too much at any one time.

I know of many varieties of prawns/shrimps but "Human" are they the large two leged variety?

Goldfish shouldnt' eat such high protein diet without plenty of veggies. I'm not sure I'd feed them people shrimp though, especially not ones that have been flavored or fried.

It should be fine, assuming:

1. The shrimp are cooked to kill any pathogens.

2. They are plain (no sauce or anything).

3. The fish eat all of it so there is never any left rotting in the tank.

4. You don't give them this too often. Food like this should only be used as a treat.
