I have a 48G aquarium, and i think there is something wrong with my tap water because there is already soooooo much alge on the glass...Its hair like and green
I was planning on getting a few Ottos later when the alge developed but it seems like I might have too ad them soon.

What should i do, going to get the alge scraper soon.
There is also all this white stuff on my wood but someone said that is normal for drift wood so...
Thank you

How much light do you have over your tank? Does it get any direct sunlight? What fish are in there already? Do you have a nitrate test kit? If so, check the levels in your tank, and straight from the tap. You may have higher than normal nitrates in your tap water.
Is this tank planted? If so, you may need to look at your fert regimen and see if something's missing.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

xlinkinparkx,

I agree with illustrae, much more detailed information is required to identify your issue for sure.

I digged around and found your log for this tank. Here are a few questions:

"It is cycled, water permeters are good" - how did you do that, and what is "good"?

"So far I have: 6 corys, 6 serpea tetras, 1 Dwarf Gourami" - that is quite some fishload for a rather new tank (2 weeks old), in particular with almost no plants at all.

Do you add plant fertilizers?
How much do you feed the fish?

That's it for now,

Ingo
