Last night I fed my fish, a pinch of flakes, a corner of dried tublex worms, and several algae wafers. The fish at the top, after making short work of their food came down to the bottom and started breaking up the wafers. This produced a cloud of fine food particles in the water and the water did not look very clear. It was not good for photographing fish. This morning the water is clear again. Is this gloomy mess at night a normal occurrance? |

I also use a smaller 4-5ml dia wafer and they take them in one mouth full. I hope you are soaking the worms first other they could/will expand in the stomach of the fish. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith ![]() ![]() Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. That's why I started to feed only one tablet for 2 full grown ancistrus ( about 4-5 inch each SL). They fight over it but they would fight no matter how many tablets are. The small tetras around will eat some of the floating particles. I even think to break the tablets in 2. The funny thing is that at the shop they told me that the tablets will not disolve into the water ( only very slow) and that the other fish than bottomfeeders are not going to eat it. With the flakes I never experienced such problems, maybe you just feed too much? |

I have decreased the number of wafers and now I am hiding some in the narrower places where the hogs of the fish world can't find it first. ![]() |
