In a week I need to move my 5 gallon acrylic tank home with me when I move out of the dorms. How should I go about this?

I only have one fish and 2 ADF. I was told that if I keep my bio-wheel wet with tank water that will save the bacteria. It is only a 1.5 (2 max) hour drive though.

It "Should" be OK but to be on the safe side give the tank a good cleaning about 2-3 days before you move the tank and reduce the feeding by 50& for the same time.
What this will do is reduce the amount of waste in the tank and filter.
I would also buy a small bottle of Seachem Stability to boost the good bacteria do this the day you clean the tank and as soon as you reset the tank up also reduce the feeding for a few days as well. If possible add a small air-stone as soon as you reset the tank up.

This might a bit over cautious but it is far better that way than try to fix up a problem if things go wrong.

This will totally depend on the weather of the day. The two hour drive should not worry them at all.
Go to your LFS and get some of the plastic bags or use any strong clean plastic bags. I would place the bags in a small styrene box and wrap them in some thing soft to stop them moving around. Do not put them in a sunny spot in the car other wise they will not make the trip.

I've found it's best to keep the fish covered in the car. Styro box, or even a strong cardboard. Bag them, fill the space with towels, newspaper, spare clothing... anything to keep the bag from rolling too much, should also keep the temperature steady. cover the box with a towel or close it if it's got a lid

Biowheel could go in another bag. Leave just a tiny amount of water over the substrate or bag it and keep it a little moist.

Instead of a bag, would it be fine to put them into a tupperware container or is a bag a bit more comfortable?

Tupperware would be fine, I just feel kinda odd using the tupperware again afterwards....what with the smell...

You'd want to make sure that it's really clean before you put any materials in it of course, no detergent residue, that sort of thing.
I've used plastic paint pail sized buckets for moving fish/plants ect before. They have lids that seal nice and tight, handy handle, and make it pretty dark inside to calm the fish down. The plants dont seem to need calming as much .

My parents were helping move some of my youngest sis' stuff this weekend, guess it really is that time of year straight across the nation .

I would run a mile from any plastics unless it was bought especially for carrying fish and has been used many times.

A clean plastic bag from your LFS would be the safest bet or a high quality food quality freezer bags.

Bag them up.
Find a small polybox.
Put the bags in.
Blow up other bags and tie them, so its just air in them, then pack them around the fish in bags so its tight and does not roll.

Sorry, I guess I should have specified that these containers were bought for fish use only. So they only thing theyve touched is dirty tank water and tap water when I clean my tank.

With the plastic boxes you can put a plant/s in there as well just make sure the lids are tightly sealed. Being small boxes they would be a lot easier to pack into a styrene box.
