Otherwise, the fry could be damaged in transit. My preferred method would be to remove the parents temporarily first - as larger fishes, they'll be easier to catch. Then, once you have only fry in the aquarium, netting them out and transferring them to a rearing nursery will be a good deal easier. Once that is done, replace the parent fishes. This is, of course, if the parent fishes are in a purpose constructed breeding aquarium. |

When I had fry many years ago I only ever used a small fine net and never a problem as far as losses/stress.
